APPLICANT INFORMATION
TWO CATEGORIES OF SCHOLARSHIPS WILL BE AWARDED

CATEGORY I GPA 3.0 and above

Two (2) $500.00, non-renewable scholarships to be used for full time tuition, books or expenses at an accredited four year college or university.

OBJECTIVE
David Montoya Construction, Inc provides these awards to recognize the youth of the North Valley who display exceptional academic and leadership qualities.

CATEGORY II GPA 2.4 - 3.0

One (1) $500.00, non-renewable scholarship to be used for full time tuition, books or expenses at an accredited two or four year college or university.

One (1) $250.00, non-renewable scholarships to be used for full time tuition, books or expenses at an accredited college, technical or vocational school.

OBJECTIVE
David Montoya Construction, Inc. provides these awards to recognize the youth of the North Valley who display academic and character qualities and show a solid pattern toward improvement.

ELEGIBILITY
o High School senior graduating fall or spring of the current year
o Born in New Mexico
o Grade point average (based on a 4.0 scale)
      o Category I, 3.0 and above
      o Category II, 2.4 ‚ 3.0
o Must live in the North Valley Boundary criteria:
      o North - Bernalillo County Line
      o South - Interstate 40
      o East - Interstate 25
      o West - Coors Blvd.

PROCEDURES
Students may obtain applications at David Montoya Construction, Inc. or from their high school counseling office. Applicants are required to complete the application form in addition to a short essay as specified on the application. Applicants must arrange to have their school registrar complete the form included in the application and include a sealed, official copy of the most current high school transcript. It is the applicant’s responsibility to include two or more sealed, confidential references, one from a math, science or English teacher and one general reference.

Applicants should submit the application packet in the following order:
1. Application form
2. Essay
3. Registrar form
4. Sealed official copy of high school transcript
5. Sealed letters of recommendation
6. Proof of residence
7. Proof of birth location

All applications must be postmarked no later than April 15 to be eligible. Incomplete applications will not be processed! Finalists may be interviewed and will receive information regarding scheduling.
