Clayton Community 2007-2008

APPLICANT INFORMATION

OBJECTIVE
To thank the Clayton community for your support during construction of US Highway 64/87, we are offering four scholarship awards to Clayton High School seniors who display academic, leadership, and character qualities.

AWARDS
Three (3) $500.00, non-renewable scholarships to be used for full time tuition, books or expenses at an accredited four year college or university.

One (1) $250.00, non-renewable scholarship to be used for full time tuition, books or expenses at an accredited college, technical, or vocational school.

CATEGORY: CLA 08

ELEGIBILITY
Clayton High School senior graduating fall 2007 or spring 2008
Grade point average minimum 2.4 (based on a 4.0 scale)

All criteria will be considered in awarding these scholarships including educational achievement, leadership qualities, community service, letters of recommendation and written essay.


PROCEDURES
Students may obtain applications at David Montoya Construction, Inc. or Clayton High School counseling office. Applicants are required to complete the application form in addition to a short essay as specified on the application. Applicants must arrange to have their school registrar complete the form included in the application and include a sealed, official copy of the most current high school transcript. It is the applicant’s responsibility to include two or more sealed, confidential references, one from a math, science or English teacher and one general reference.

Applicants should submit the application packet in the following order:
1. Application form
2. Essay
3. Registrar form
4. Sealed official copy of high school transcript
5. Sealed letters of recommendation

All applications must be postmarked no later than April 15, 2008 to be eligible.
Incomplete applications will not be processed! Finalists may be interviewed and will receive information regarding scheduling.
